Veronica A. "Ronnie"  Gavitt Palmer
Veronica A. “Ronnie” Gavitt Palmer, 93, born in New London to the late Charles and Eva Weyant, passed away at The Westerly Hospital on June 21, 2016. She was the wife of the late John Gavitt for forty years and the wife of the late Albert Palmer for 21 years.

Ronnie worked as a volunteer at the Stonington Thrift Shop over 40 years. She was an active member of the Westerly Senior Center where she was an avid Bingo and card player as well as an associate member of the Westerly Yacht Club where she enjoyed playing Shuffleboard.

She is survived by three sons, John H. “Jack” Gavitt of Stuart, FL, and Lawrence K. Gavitt and Mark Gavitt both of Pawcatuck; eight grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. Ronnie also leaves a brother Charles Weyant and his wife Lena of Stonington; a sister Laura Wilson of Colorado and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Paul Weyant.

Visiting hours are omitted. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside funeral service at First Hopkinton Cemetery, Chase Hill Rd., Ashaway on Monday at 11am.
