Obituary for Antonio P. "Junie" Trebisacci Jr.
Deep in his faith, Antonio (Junie) P. Trebisacci, Jr., went home to the Lord on February 16, 2021, at the age of 85, surrounded by his loving family. A devout and faithful servant he spent his life dedicating his time to his family and others.
Born in Westerly, he was the son of the late Antonio P. Trebisacci, Sr., and Nellie Trebisacci. He was predeceased by his brothers Louis A., David, John Sr., Salvatore, and one sister Josephine (Trebisacci) Christina.
He lived a full and blessed life. Antonio was a 1953 graduate of Westerly High School. Upon graduation he went to work at the Westerly Sun for 53 years with a two-year break to serve in the U.S. Army. He also served four years in the U.S. Air Force Reserve. His customers at the Westerly Sun loved to see him come, they always knew they would get a corny joke. He was known by many and loved by all. The community loved to hear him on Pizza Lady commercials on WBLQ. He was an avid Red Sox fan and played softball as a pitcher for many years in the Men’s Softball League. He was a member of the Mt. Carmel Feast Committee for 62 years and a member of the Calabrese Club. Antonio gave so much of himself by volunteering at South County Community Action and also cooked and delivered many meals to those in need. He was particularly known for his sausage muffins and eggplant parmesan. McQuade's Marketplace will certainly miss his daily visits. He will be fondly remembered for his sense of humor and his famous odes.
He met the love of his life, Carolyn Cozzolino and made her his bride. They enjoyed 58 years together dancing, traveling, raising their family and sharing their faith at the Immaculate Conception Church. He also leaves his son Kenneth P. and wife Rebecca A., daughter Karen, and daughter Christine and husband Timothy Riordan; as well as his grandchildren, Luke and Giovanna Trebisacci, Brianna and Nate Klein, and Anastasica Riordan; many nieces and nephews; and life-long friends, and his faithful canine best friend Sally.
There will be no visiting hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, 111 High St., Westerly on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. All are welcome, there will be upstairs and downstairs seating. Masks must be worn and social distancing protocols followed. Due to COVID restrictions, burial will be private. A reception to celebrate his life and share stories will be held this summer.
